2022 was a fantastic year for small indie developers. Choosing the top ten games was a challenging task. After careful consideration, we concluded that 18 games truly deserved a spot on the year-end list.

Embark on an epic journey through a mystical realm brimming with forgotten tales, mystical forces, and formidable creatures in TUNIC, an action-packed isometric game starring a courageous fox. Trapped in a desolate land, armed with nothing but your inquisitiveness, you’ll face off against gigantic beasts, gather peculiar and potent artifacts, and unveil ancient enigmas.
3: Stray
Stray is an exciting cat adventure game that takes place in a deteriorating cybercity filled with vibrant neon-lit alleys and grimy underground areas. Explore every nook and cranny, protect yourself against unexpected dangers, and unravel the enigmatic secrets of this inhospitable world, teeming with inquisitive robots and menacing creatures.
4: Rogue Legacy 2
Rogue Legacy 2 is a game that combines elements of a traditional rogue-like with genealogical features. It includes randomized runs, character variations, and more, while also incorporating persistent upgrades and dead heirs. Your legacy plays a significant role in this game, as you can use your parents’ inheritance to improve the family manor and increase your children’s chances of success in battles.
5: Nobody Saves the World
Embark on your journey as Nobody, a pale androgynous being who awakens with no memory or pants. Shortly after, you stumble upon a mighty enchanted wand, enabling you to transform into a multitude of extraordinary Forms!
6: Vampire Survivors
Vampire Survivors is an immersive time survival game that combines minimalistic gameplay with roguelite elements. In this dark and unforgiving world, there is no escape from the lurking devils. Your only option is to fight for your life and endure until your inevitable demise. Collect gold during each playthrough to purchase upgrades and assist future survivors.
7: Stacklands
Stacklands is a game that allows you to construct a village by stacking cards. Through this process, you can gather food, construct buildings, and combat various creatures. To illustrate, if you place a ‘Villager’ card onto a ‘Berry Bush’ card, it will generate ‘Berry’ cards that the villagers can consume for sustenance.
8: Endling: Extinction is Forever
Being the sole surviving mother fox on the planet, it is crucial that you provide utmost care to your cubs in order to help them thrive in a world that is on a path of self-destruction. Your role is to guide, educate, and protect them. It is important to remember that once a species becomes extinct, it is lost forever.
9: Tinykin
Tinykin draws its inspiration from fan-favorite series, Pikmin and Paper Mario. This captivating game takes players on a thrilling adventure alongside Milodane, an archaeologist, as he delves into the unknowns of a mysterious planet and unravels the secrets of humanity’s origins.
