The storyline revolves around a lamb who narrowly escapes death thanks to an enigmatic figure known as “The One Who Waits”. In return for this salvation, the lamb embarks on a mission to establish a devoted following in honor of its savior.
Gameplay
Cult of the Lamb revolves around a lamb’s mission to establish a cult in order to please the mysterious deity who saved the player’s life. To achieve this, players embark on roguelike-style expeditions across five distinct regions, battling enemies and expanding their loyal following. The game world is procedurally generated and incorporates roguelike elements, offering resources to gather, perks and weapons to acquire, rival cultists and non-believers as adversaries, as well as animals in need of rescue. These rescued animals can be indoctrinated into the player’s cult, featuring customizable appearances and both positive and negative traits that impact their behaviors within the cult or how they respond to the player’s actions related to it.
Story
In a realm inhabited by deceitful seers, there exists a Lamb known as Lambert, believed to be the final remaining member of its species. This unique creature is presented before The Four Bishops of the Ancient Beliefs and ultimately offered as a sacrifice in their presence. Following its demise, The Lamb is ushered into the presence of “The One Who Waits,” an enigmatic deity bound by chains. Tasking The Lamb with establishing a religious sect in its honor, this mysterious entity bestows upon them an infernal crown before granting them resurrection.
