Gameplay

Factorio is a game that revolves around resource-gathering and real-time strategy, with elements of survival and management simulation. It takes inspiration from the BuildCraft and IndustrialCraft mods for Minecraft. The player’s objective is to craft tools and machines by locating and harvesting resources, which are then used to create more advanced materials. As the player advances, they can build and manage an automated factory-style system, which automates the mining, transportation, processing, and assembly of resources and products. The game provides opportunities to research advanced technologies, enabling players to create new structures, items, and upgrades, from basic automation to robots, oil refining, and powered exoskeletons.
