Gameplay

FEZ is a game that combines 2D puzzle platform elements with a 3D world. The main character, Gomez, lives peacefully in a 2D plane until he acquires a red fez and witnesses the destruction of a giant, golden hexahedron. This event tears the fabric of spacetime and reveals a third dimension. After the game appears to reset, the player can rotate between four different 2D views of the 3D world, which enables them to navigate through the levels more effectively. This rotation mechanic is the basis of Fez’s puzzles and allows the player to access new paths and platforms that were previously inaccessible. The goal of the game is to collect cubes and cube fragments to restore order to the universe. To do this, Gomez jumps between ledges and traverses the game environment.
