Gameplay

Supraland is a video game where the player takes control of a toy figurine that has come to life. The player character is the prince of a kingdom filled with “red people” and is assigned the task of discovering why the water supply of their kingdom has been interfered with by “blue people” from a neighboring kingdom. The game is played from a first-person perspective and all levels are located within a sandbox that belongs to a child. Each area is separated by a specific theme. The gameplay is a combination of various genres such as puzzle video games, point-and-click games, and first-person shooter games, and is primarily influenced by the Metroidvania sub-genre. The game does not provide players with a map to navigate the in-game world, but instead relies on visual cues provided by large objects on the horizon that serve as landmarks to orient players and guide them in the appropriate direction to achieve their objective.

Story

Supraland doesn’t focus much on the story, providing players with only a basic introduction and a main objective. Beyond that, players are given the freedom to explore and figure things out on their own.

How long is Supraland?

When it comes to the primary goals, Supraland typically takes around 13 hours to complete. However, if you’re an avid gamer looking to explore every aspect of the game, you can expect to spend approximately 23 hours to achieve 100% completion.

Reception

Supraland garnered positive reviews from reviewers who appreciated its puzzle design and vast virtual environment that encourages players to explore.

In April 2019, Supraland’s post-early access release resulted in the sale of 50,000 units within just one month. As of March 10, 2021, the game had been played by over 600,000 unique individuals, becoming a cult hit.
